Álex de Marcos, born on Halloween night in 1985, is an illustrator dedicated to all areas of illustration: from editorial to advertising for agencies around the world. 1.-How would you define your work?

My job is what defines me...("intense-dramatic" pause) haha just kidding. She would define him as a nonconformist. I am always looking for new aesthetics within the same visual language.

2.-Who do you have as a reference or what do you use as inspiration?

I am a bit obsessive, I am continually open to any external element that can inspire or influence me. Lately I see something in everything that catches my attention, in that sense I have no prejudices. It is difficult to get rid of the “artist” ego, but when you stop trying to define yourself and feel accepted within a current, I think you begin to get rid of that burden, and you do not discard any stimulus.

3.-What materials do you usually use for your works?

I have had streaks, now I am having a reunion with acrylic, I am very impatient and impulsive.

4.-What do you ask of painting?

That covers without pasting, and that smells good hehe

5.-In your color palette, what is essential?

I love pink and blue. When dressing I am very sober but when painting I like to have chromatic richness. I spend more time thinking about the color palette I'm going to use than fitting the drawing together.
