Maria Herreros (Valencia, 1983), artist based in Barcelona from where she develops her work to the rest of the world. With projects ranging from the press, advertising campaigns, murals, fashion, books and personal work; She tries to express the most instinctive aspects of the human being, from a characteristic style that dances between the grotesque and the beautiful.

1.-How would you define your work?

Nervous, empathetic and sincere.

2.-Who do you have as a reference or what do you use as inspiration?

Music, photography, video clips and especially cinema. The frames are my visual reference.

3.-What materials do you usually use for your works?

Watercolor and graphite for drawing, sometimes ink. To paint acrylic and sometimes oil.

4.-What do you ask of painting?

That the colors blend very well, I like to mix them in the work itself, a good texture and solidity. I'm more of a flat color.

5.-In your color palette, what is essential?

A good base skin color. All the others, I qualify them a lot. I rarely leave a color as it is, because I like to impregnate them all with a grayish hue.
