It is a very economical way to take advantage of and renew a piece of furniture that we have at home or that a family member gives us.

In a quick, simple way and combining a series of techniques, they will be unique objects adapted to each space.

With Chalk Paint Now you can achieve a radical change in a piece of furniture without knowing about restoration and with a professional result. Below we explain a step by step to achieve a complete transformation.

BEFORE

1. Choose your furniture or piece to renew. If it is very dirty, clean it with soap and water. If you want, you can give it a light sanding, but with ChalkPaint It is not necessary. Paint with the color of Chalk Paint chosen one.

2. Once the first layer of paint is dry, we apply Colorless Wax in those areas of the furniture where we will later sand to perform stripping. Once it has dried, we paint over it with a lighter color than the first applied, so that the contrast stands out.

3. Once the second layer of paint is dry, with soft sandpaper, sand those areas where the wax had been applied. We recommend that it be applied in the places where, in theory, wear on a piece of furniture is most common, such as the top, edges, corners and leg profiles.

4. The Stencil technique helps to personalize the piece and give it a special finish. The surface must be clean and smooth, the previous paint dry and unwaxed. Secure the template with masking tape. Use a specific brush for stenciling. Take the paint, discharge the excess onto a piece of paper and apply with small touches, keeping the brush vertical. Remove the stencil carefully once dry.

5. Once the work is finished, wash the stencil very well and let it dry before storing it. In this case, to give it a white powdery finish, White Wax has been applied to protect the drawing created, although any wax or varnish could be used to protect it.

6. Finally, apply colorless wax all over the furniture with a brush or cloth so that the paint absorbs it and is nourished, leaving it protected. Let dry. Rub with a cotton cloth to remove excess wax and give it a silky, smooth finish. If you do not apply wax, it is advisable to varnish the piece to prevent wear.
