Tellas was born in Cagliari, Sardinia, in 1985 and studied in Bologna at the Academy of Fine Arts. Tellas' research is based on a non-urban aesthetic; his works are personal and intimate visions of the elements of natural landscapes.

His work materializes in a meditation that combines space and form. His works can be seen as studies made on a wide range of "supports", from a large wall, a piece of paper or a canvas, or an installation, such as the one he made for the "Spectrum" project.

Recognized as one of the 25 most interesting Street Art artists in the world by the Huffington Post of the United States in 2014, Tellas develops his art in various fields: drawing, painting, installations, printing techniques, audiovisual productions.

He recently completed a 260-meter-long mural painting for the port of Pesaro (Italy) and another work commissioned in Queensland (Australia), for the city of Townsville, titled "The Barrier."

During the month of October 2016, a new set of works were presented for the individual exhibition "Extreme Climate" at Wunderkammer Gallery in Rome.

He participated in the “Public” festival in Perth, Australia, in “Upea16” in Finland and in a group exhibition at the Magma Danysz gallery in Paris.

In May 2015, he opened his first solo exhibition in the Netherlands, “This quiet, harsh land”, at the Mini Galerie in Amsterdam.

France is again home to another of his works in 2014, when he participates in the “Bien Urbain” festival in Besançon.

In 2012 he was invited to "Le 4 Mur Festival" in Niort, France, where he also had the opportunity to show his personal exhibition, called "Parasitism". Tellas appears in the 2015 Contemporary Urban Art Guide, published by Graffit Art Magazine, along with a selection of the 100 most recognized artists of 2015.

In 2014, another TELLAS exhibition, “Aperto”, takes place at the Mini Galerie, and is followed by its participation in 'Artmosphere', the first StreetArt Biennale, which took place in Moscow, together with more than 70 artists from all over the world.

Téllas' art has been shown in various projects and exhibitions, both nationally and internationally.

Among these, we remember “La Tour Paris 13 Project” considered one of the most innovative projects in contemporary art.

In November 2015 he continued his collaboration with the fashion brand MARNI for “Becoming MARNI”, a project presented for the 56th Venice Biennale.

After a month of artistic residency in Brazil together with Roberto Ciredz, Tellas developed public murals and installations that were recorded in the documentary “A grande terra do Sertão”.

In 2010, he joined forces with illustrator Martina Merlini and created “Asylum”, a work in progress that explores the microcosm of birds through different exhibitions. His participation in international festivals and collaborations with contemporary European and international artists are countless.

Among them, in 2011 Tellas collaborated with the fashion brand MARNI, leading to the production of “on Marni”, an animated video, followed by the exhibition “Welcomes you to the world of Tellas” on the occasion of Art Basel in Miami, Florida.

Later that year, he leads the workshop “The Shape and the Space” at the KIR in Stavanger, Norway, during the NUART festival.

Télas works and lives in Rome.

How would you define your work?

I divide my artwork in public space and work in the studio. Muralism, installations, paintings and works on paper.

Who do you have as a reference or what do you use as inspiration?

My work is continuous search and observation of natural elements. And its interaction with the artificial world, created by man.

What materials do you usually use for your works?

In the studio, I use India ink, acrylics, sprays and oil sticks. When I paint on walls I use rollers, brushes and exterior paint.

What do you ask of painting?

What I often look for is opacity of colors, more natural shadows, and good coverage.

In your color palette, what is essential?

With colors I always try to start with the primaries until I find my own colors.

I almost always start from the grays to look for more natural tones that do not exhaust the viewer's eye.
